Reed Diffusers - with pure essential oils

Our beautiful teardrop-shaped reed diffuser bottles are made of Spanish recycled glass and come in lovely colours. They make a very attractive addition to any home, as a group or on their own. Our reed diffuser oils are of the highest quality, made from 30% pure essential oils and 70% fragrance carrier. They come in a variety of gorgeous fragrances, especially hand blended to suit specific requirements. We sell our reed diffuser bottles and oils separately so that you can mix and match as you wish.

The result is a reed diffuser second to none, beautiful to look at and long lasting. Each 3mm reed contains 20 or more individual columns (cellular sections) like mini-straws that pull the diffuser oil from the bottom to the top and release the fragrance into the air naturally. The narrow neck of our reed diffuser bottles ensures that evaporation is minimised, and each reed diffuser should last at least a year if you follow our Hints and Tips on using Reed Diffusers. There is no need for a wooden cap sitting on the shoulder of the bottle, which would detract from the elegant clean lines of our bottles and also means that the reeds are free to splay attractively.

It's worth pointing out that often reed diffuser oils containing synthetic fragrances are cheaper than those containing pure essential oils. Our reed diffuser oils contain 30% pure essential oils in 70% fragrance carrier, that’s 36ml per 120ml bottle, which costs a bit when you consider that essential oils normally come in 10ml bottles. However, the result is a very clean pure aroma that lasts for ages. Our reed diffuser oils vary in price according to the essential oils used in them.

Hints and Tips on using Reed Diffusers:

  • Remove all packaging material from the reed diffuser bottle. Keep the cork in case you want to user the bottle for something else in the future.
  • Fill the reed diffuser bottle 2/3 full with the reed diffuser oil of your choice. Keep the remaining reed diffuser oil in a safe place, to be used to top up the reed diffuser bottle as the oil slowly evaporates.
  • Arrange up to 10 reeds in the reed diffuser bottle, gently splaying them out to achieve the desired effect. Remember that it may take a few hours for the oil to start diffusing up through the reeds.
  • Periodically give the reed diffuser bottle a gentle shake and turn the reeds upside down to get those aromatic molecules going again. Do this also if you want a stronger aroma for a specific occasion.
  • If you want to change the fragrance at any point you could do one of the following:
    - Cork the reed diffuser bottle and put it away for future use. Replace with another reed diffuser bottle and reed diffuser oil.
    - Decant the reed diffuser oil back into the bottle it came in and put that away for future use. Wash the reed diffuser bottle out with warm soapy water, ensure it’s dry, and then pour in your replacement reed diffuser oil.
In this way you can vary the fragrance over time, perhaps by season or across different rooms in your home.
  • Should you decide that you’ve finished with a reed diffuser bottle give it a wash and consider using it for something else. For example, with the cork they make wonderful decorative bottles for salad dressings, vinegar, oils, and herbs.
  • Our reed diffuser bottles look very attractive both sitting on their own or as a group. Why not consider having a group of three, one used as a reed diffuser and the others for decorative or even practical purposes. Here are a few ideas:
    - In the kitchen you could fill the other two bottles with vinegar and olive oil.
    - In the bathroom you could have a reed diffuser with two bottles containing baths salts, bath oils, or bubble bath.
    - In other rooms you could fill the other two bottles with decorative substances such as small pebbles or decorative sand, or even leave them empty and let the glass speak for itself.
