Body Massage Treatments
Body massage like Swedish massage is a treatment that can incorporate many different movements to make a massage vigorous or relaxing depending on your needs. It can cover the whole body or focus in on specific areas, again depending on your needs. For example, people often hold a lot of stress and tension in their back, shoulders, and neck, so are drawn to having an upper body massage.
These treatments can incorporate remedial massage as desired, for example to aid recovery from a sports or whiplash injury, or to help with chronic pain. They can also incorporate deep tissue massage, which will gradually release severe and often long-standing muscle tension.
I will choose a massage medium to meet your needs, typically oil blended to suit your skin type and condition, however I also use creams where appropriate. I will often include essential oils for their therapeutic value and lovely aromas.
I offer the following Body Massage treatments, which can be tailored to suit:
Full Body Massage
Lasting one hour and twenty minutes this is a thorough treatment covering the back, legs, feet, arms, hands, shoulders, neck, face, and scalp, and leaves the whole body and mind feeling deeply relaxed, released and revitalised.
Upper Body Massage
Lasting one hour this stress-busting back, neck, and shoulder massage focuses on the areas of the body where we typically hold a lot of our tension.
Back & Leg Massage
Lasting one hour this intensive massage effectively relieves muscle tension in the back and legs, and is ideally suited for people who are very sporty or generally physically active.
What My Clients Are Saying
“I was first recommended to Kate by my physiotherapist to help ease the pain caused by my spondylolisthesis and misaligned left shoulder, which were both diagnosed at the age of 12. 11 years ago, on the verge of major surgery I started regular physiotherapy and fortnightly visits to see Kate. Gradually this combination has realigned my muscle structure in the back and I am now pain free in both areas. Although my body is constantly wanting to return to its default position regular massage prevents this and also prevents any small niggles from getting worse. There is a level of expertise and professionalism that I have not experienced with other massages. As an unforeseen bonus the whole experience, with the essential oils, the smells and the music, has now become the most relaxing and meditative period I have in my life. When I leave I feel I could cope with anything! This in itself would be a good enough reason to recommend Kate's services.
“I first visited Kate as a complementary treatment to follow on from physiotherapy after breaking my collar bone. Many people who had suffered the same injury told me of the limited range of movement they had due to not following up after the healing had taken place and I was not prepared to take the chance on what I would be able to do for the rest of my life. The initial treatments concentrated on this area and now I am happy to say I have regained 99.9% of the movement I had before my fall. As we made this progress the rest of my body started to cry out for some attention too! I now have a monthly full body massage to sort out any new damage I may do to myself while living the life of an active horsewoman and manual worker. You don't have to listen to "whale music" if it's not your thing, I took along my own selection to relax to. Kate is friendly and professional and we have developed a great relationship, she doesn't even mind my snoring when I drop off during treatments!
